Birdlife has decided to stop offering listings to sites on free hosts. This is an important issue to all site owners using hosts like, freeservers, fortunecity, geocities, bravenet, etc. If you have your website on a host that does not require payment due to advertising, your site will not be listed.

It has come to our attention in recent weeks that several free hosts are receiving ad money from companies that install parasites on users computers without their knowledge. Most of these ads are in the form of "driveby download" meaning if visitor's security settings are low or they have active X enabled without warning they will become victim to autodownload and install of software that can spy on their online activities including in some cases keystrokes on filled forms (credit card #'s and other personally identifiable information) Other software bombards the pc owner with unwanted popup ads. This is a bad situation for website owners who are being blamed for popup ads they have not intentionally installed on their sites. It can make visitors not want to return to a site!

Because we have implemented a parasite detection/warning system on site we are sure that our visitors are free of parasites. Sending visitors who are free of parasites to free hosted site will only potentially infect more surfers.
